Note:
Pit bull and pit bull mixes are banned in Benton Co. If one is brought to the shelter, we cannot adopt them out. Our options are limited to finding a rescue (not an easy task) or to euthanize. Please do not bring pit bulls to the shelter or get a dog with pit in it if you live in Benton Co.
Cats and Kittens
Adult cats: $60.00
Kittens: $85.00

About Us
Friends of the Shelter, Inc. is a private non profit animal shelter and we also manage the Vinton/Benton Animal Shelter. Many improvements have been made at the Vinton Shelter and we are excited about the future of animal care and adoptions. Our board members, volunteers, and supporters (past and present) have worked towards that goal for years and will continue to do whatever we can to help the homeless and abandoned pets of Benton Co.
Some of Friends of the Shelter’s adoptable cats are available at the Adoption Center at PetSmart in Waterloo, IA.
